24 hour relay planning

The race starts at 7pm Friday and finishes at 7pm Saturday.
The weather is expected to be relatively cool but a little damp. Spare clothes (esp SOCKS) would be good.
We will have 2 large tents to camp in.

In planning for the race we need to determine:

  • The running order.
  • Who can give rides to athletes up to Wakefield in time for them to run.
    • Ed has a motorcycle that could carry one daring passenger.
  • Who wants to go back to Somerville for recovery (food, sleep).
  • Who can provide transport for that.
  • Who will still be there at finish to provide rides back to Somerville.

So, if you have preferences as to when you run let us know.
If you have transport (a car or a ride with parents or a friend) let us know.

My initial suggestion is that a group of 4 run from 7pm to 1am and another group of 4 run from 1am to 7am.
That would allow the first group to recover back in Somerville for 5 hours (or 2 people for 6 hours).
Also the 2nd group wouldn't have to get to Wakefield until 12:30am or so.
Of course the simplest would be for everyone to get there at 6pm, get registered, and just run once every 3 hours.

I can just stay there until saturday.

That sounds like you mean you can't stay the whole time. If so, when would you have to leave?

I too will stay the whole 24 hours.

Maybe going with everyone running showed and stayed probably be best. Say Group A run the first six hour, then the Group B can rest in tents. After Group B Run for six hours and Group A rest in the tents. Repeat the cycle once more. It will be easier to manage and will know that everyone available and here.

say we go with the plan of, "Maybe going with everyone running showed and stayed probably be best. Say Group A run the first six hour, then the Group B can rest in tents. After Group B Run for six hours and Group A rest in the tents. Repeat the cycle once more. It will be easier to manage and will know that everyone available and here." That will require a ride/way to the start of the relay and a ride/way back to Home. This making the ride situation simple.

The team has decided to have everyone to once every three hours.

If everyone stays at the race and rest in the tents, then we can figure out the order of who wants to be in group a and group b and who is/will run an extra lap.

I'm pretty sure that we decided to run once every three hours.
As for transportation, on tuesday I'm pretty sure conte said he will be taking his car and he could fit 4 additional people. Im still unsure whether or not ill have my regular car by the start of the race, but i do have another car that could fit one more person.
